About the DLS Method

The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method is a mathematical formulation designed to calculate the target score for the team batting second in a limited overs cricket match interrupted by weather or other circumstances.

  • The method uses the concept of "resources" available to a team
  • Resources are based on the number of overs remaining and wickets in hand
  • When play is interrupted, the target is adjusted based on the resources lost
  • The DLS method replaced the earlier Duckworth-Lewis method in 2014

This calculator provides an approximation of DLS calculations. Official calculations may vary based on specific match conditions and ICC regulations.
